I love my mom!

I just finished watching "Anak" for the second time. It made me cry again. It's one of those movies that makes you realize the value of your mother. I just feel so lucky that my mom is so great. I mean, yeah ... there are times that we don't agree with things but in the end, I know she's just looking out for me. At shempre ako naman, I'll always find a way to do what I want ... pasaway kasi ako. hahaha. But regardless ... she never leaves my side and is always ever patient with me. Kaya siguro ko mejo pasensyosa (OK fine Gie ... super pasensyosa, hehe). I know she loves me, and I love her. =)

I know malayo pa ang Mother's Day ... pero I want everyday to be Mother's Day so Ma ... HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY! You are the greatest mom ... and even more!! I love you!!!

Right here waiting for you ...

Oceans apart day after day ... And I slowly go insane ... I hear your voice on the line ... But it doesn't stop the pain ... If I see you next to never ... How can we say forever ... Wherever you go ... Whatever you do ... I will be right here waiting for you ... Whatever it takes ... Or how my heart breaks ... I will be right here waiting for you ...... I took for granted ... all the times ... That I thought would last somehow ... I hear the laughter ... I taste the tears ... But I can't get near you now ... Oh, can't you see it baby ... You've got me goin' crazy ... Wherever you go ... Whatever you do ... I will be right here waiting for you ... Whatever it takes ... Or how my heart breaks ... I will be right here waiting for you ...... I wonder how we can survive this romance ... But in the end ... if I'm with you I'll take the chance ...... Oh, can't you see it baby ... You've got me goin' crazy ... Wherever you go ... Whatever you do ... I will be right here waiting for you ... Whatever it takes ... Or how my heart breaks ... I will be right here waiting for you

You can't make someone love you,

All you can do is

be someone who can be loved,

The rest is up to the person to

realize your worth.

Sana. Sana.

it's interesting so ... pinost ko dito.

thank you for calling!

callcenter::

Dati, tuwang tuwa ako pag may nakikilala akong 'merikano.

"if ur using a windows, it's in the lower LEFT of ur monitor"

"HOW MANY TIMES DO I HAVE TO TELL YOU THAT I'M NOT USING WINDOWS! I'M USING A DELL!!! GIVE ME UR SUPERVISOR U IDIOT. I DONT WANNA WASTE MY TIME FOR CRAP."

WHAPAKKK!!!

disclaimer chuva: I just got this from an email. And like what I said in the title ... it's interesting so I posted it. I did not make it. okidox?

Sharp Pains

The week started okay. I actually thought the whole week would be just great. But ... this day is not so good, not good at all. I don't like how things are going. Sometime this morning, my chest tightened, aka chest pains. It feels like my lungs are being deprived of oxygen and my heart is being pierced. I last felt this around 2nd quarter and October til early November of 2005. I didn't think I'd feel this too soon. Oh well. I just hope things get better. Sabi nga ng mga nakakatanda ... Everything happens for a reason. I just hope the reasons are good.

"In any negative thing that happens to you, there is always a blessing in disguise. It depends on how you look at it." ~~ My Mom
I've shed some tears this morning. Now, I'm still at the brink of crying. ¤=(

Goals

I've been putting together this list for some time now, I think it's about time I post it. This is not really like a new year's resolution list but this list is like my "guideline". Kung baga, to keep me sorta focused or at least I have a checklist. Chaka, stuff in the list aren't like super drastic stuff ... it's stuff I wanna do.

Goals for 2006
  • Lose 15-20 lbs and get rid of my belly fat or at least make it less obvious - I wanna be able to wear a 2 pc swim suit ng hindi nahihiya
  • Have a higher salary
  • Get a complete check up (Medical/Physical, Dental, OB-Gyn, Vision) - Hey, there's salary deduction for these, I might as well use it.
  • Eat healthier - which means no fastfood ... shiet, kaya ko ba toh?!?!?!?
  • Have my own apartment located in a nice area
  • Get my NY drivers license - coz what I have right now is a Learner's Permit aka Student's License)
  • Scout for schools that offer Nursing ... compare tuition fees, ask for requirements, etc.
  • Prepare for the Nursing requirements
  • Be able to watch a Broadway Show
  • Build my credit

That is the 2006 list for now. But I'll keep on updating it in case a "new need" arise.

Since I'm on a goal-listing mood, I wanna list my long term goal na din. Life goals:

  • Get a Masters Degree either in Nursing or Psychology - Hey, it won't hurt to have a back-up plan in case the whole Nursing thing won't work out. I'm not totally gonna erase MA in Psychology as an option, that will be my Plan B.
  • Have enough money to have a nice decent life, and earn a little more so I can share it with my family. - My mom & Tito Mon's speech (though I wasn't there) inspired me. The speech was that he was inspired by Tiyo Martin (who was actually like a great-grand-uncle) who shares his blessings with the family.
  • Be able to support my mom coz I owe my life to her, pero actually, it's not just utang na loob, I wanna be able to provide for her the way she provided for me coz I love her and I don't want her to have a hard time when she's old. *sigh*pout*
  • Visit different countries and experience different cultures.
  • Have an GOOD impact on everyone I meet so that I will have a positive influence in their life.
  • Buy a house and car - Gusto ko may sarili akong pundar before magasawa. hehe.
  • Get married and celebrate our wonderful love for the rest of our lives.
  • Have kids (even number ... either 2 or 4) and raise them the way my mom raised me & my brothers. I want them to have great personalities and excellent principles. I want them to have the traditional Filipino Family values and practices.
  • Die peacefully knowing that my kids grew up to be great individuals with a good heart and stable career. Also ... be buried in the Philippines beside my Lola at Loyola.
  • Meet God and ask all my questions. - teka wait, di na pala life goal toh coz after-life na itoh. hehe.

(this list might go through some changes from time to time)

Saturday Night

It was Tito Rod's, Nate's, Tita Cheng's & Tito's (I forgot the name) birthday. So went to New Jersey coz they had a joint celebration. There was a variety of food but I didn't eat a lot coz I felt conscious. After dinner, we did karaoke .... they made me sing!! I wasn't able to escape this time!! If I remember it right, I sang "Tell Me" by Joey Albert. hehehe.

There was also some dancing ...

So anyway, one of the night's highlight is the fight between Manny Pacquiao and Erik Morales. Of all of us there, there were 2 who was for Morales. When the match started, everyone was really glued to the TV and really intently watching. Everyone was cheering for their man. May mga times pa that we screamed ... clapped ... some even cursed when their man got hit. hehe. When Morales got knocked out the first time in round 10 but then stood up afterwards ... we were all at the edge of our seats and screaming "tuloy mo na! sige pa!". He continued hitting Morales and then a TKO. Yey! We won!! Philippines won!! Hooray!!

Before going home, there was a "picture taking thingy".

tangina!

My mom just told me na she got hit by a motorcycle. The cars stopped to let her cross so when she got in the middle, she stopped to look to the right side. Then she looked to the left again (which was all clear) then ayun, may parating nang gagong nakamotor. Not only did the guy on the motorcycle go against the traffic, hindi niya na narealize na kaya nakastop ang mga car was because may tumatawid and the stoplight is RED. Stupid asshole. Tangina niyong mga nagmomotorsiklo kayo!! Napakairresponsable niyo!! Mga hinayupak kayo!!

But depsite all this, there was some some good pa din. Kasi after the motorcycle ... may stupid car na nag-against the traffic din. Mga linchak na di makapaghintay and would like to take advantage of the clear lane (na opposite direction naman)!! So anyway, if the motorcycle didn't hit my mom, the car would most likely have. I guess, better na bruise sa left leg (brought about by the motorcycle) ang nakuha niya instead of broken bones (if car ang tumama).

I was crying while kachat ko si Mama coz I got really scared. I don't know what I'll do kung may mangyari sa kanya. I mean ... eventually, everyone will have to face the inevitable, but I'm not ready for that.

Anyway ...

TO ALL YOU F*CKING *SSH*L*S NA IRRESPONSABLE ...
I HOPE MAKARMA KAYO.

TO ALL THOSE WHO RIDE MOTORCYCLES OR KAHIT CAR PA ...
BE CAREFUL COZ
ONE STUPID MISTAKE CAN RUIN PEOPLE'S LIVES.

I made up my mind!

For months now, I've been trying to figure out what I want to study. My options are to get a Masters degree or take Nursing. The reason I want to get a Masters degree is coz I'm really interested in Psychology and I want to further my studies in that field. BUT, I'm taking that up is gonna be expensive. As for Nursing, I like it coz it's close to my initial plan which was taking up Medicine (I took up BS Psychology for college as a pre-med but plans changed). The good thing about it is it's in demand and the salary is good. The bad thing is that I'd have to memorize a lot again.

I've been talking to my mom about this thing for weeks ... actually, months. She's always been supportive of me. Her advice was to check on both ... do some reading about what each entails and see where my heart is. She even said to consider sitting in Tita Nimia's class to see "up close" what a nurse does. FRI: Tita Nimia is a nurse and also a professor (she teaches some classes for Nursing)

Last night, I had a talk with Tita Nimia after dinner about this. She said that if I'm worried about high grades ... stop worrying coz what matters in Nursing is that you pass (but knowing me, I'm gonna be competitive once more). She also said that it's easy to get work after studying as long as I pass the board. About tuition fees, she said that if I worked in the hospital, the hospital will reimburse my tuition fee.

Also, before sleeping, Kat & I talked. Kat has been my friend since 1st year/freshman year college. We've been groupmates for a million times. Anyways, Kat currenly lives in Nevada where she started taking up Nursing last year. (or at least the pre-requisites). I asked for her opinion and thought on my so-called dilemma. While talking, we reminisced about the good old days then we remembered we had something in common. We both took Psychology as a pre-med course but we both decided not to go into Med School. hehe. So, I asked her a lot of questions, but the more important and "defining" question was "Kaya ko kaya?" to which she replied something like this "Ninna! Kilala kita! Magkasama tayo buong college at kagroup pa kita sa thesis! Kaya mo noh! Matalino ka kaya! Kaya mo yun noh!"

After hearing that, I sorta made my mind ... I'm gonna take up Nursing. As much as possible, I don't want to take any loan coz I don't like owing people money but if I have to, I will. My goal is to go back to school by 2007. I just need to fix some things this year but 2007 ... I'm definitely going back to school.

grrr

I hate not having things go my way. I get really pissed and usually on the brink of crying. I get agitated and very irritable. Maybe I’m just being bratty but I hate not having control in my life, especially now that I’m about to turn 23 in a month. Hohum.

wake up!!

There I was ... sitting oh so comfortably on the bus, trying not to fall asleep. I was thinking, "What should I do to wake me up?".

Then a woman who was twice my size (let's call her "Connie") gets on the bus and sees someone she knows (who was a seat away from me). Connie then decides to sit in between me and her friend, but ... the bus suddenly moves, making her lose her balance. As she was stumbling ... she stepped on ALL my toes. The pain didn't go away until like after 30 minutes.

After that, I thought ... "OK!! I'M UP!! I'M UP!! NO NEED TO WAKE ME UP!! IT HURTS!!"

Am I too optimistic?

Looking back at my "history" ... I think I believe people too much, too fast. This was what got me in trouble in the past. I hope I'll be more cautious with the people I'll meet in the future. Also, I should not be too "hopeful" in the idea that people CAN change. I was just brought up in a good family that I have this belief that people are innately good. Throughout the years though, I've met different people that made messed up my life for some some reason at a certain time ... *SSHOLES, back stabers, slutty girls, CHRONIC LIARS, users, walang-utang-na-loob kind of people, etc. Like what I said in the previous entry, nakakairita na may ganitong mga tao who would actually take advantage of the kindness you are showing to them. For example, even when I have doubts about a person's integrity or even when I hear bad things about that person, I'll try to "stick around" and encourage them to change. Pero kakaiba ang ibang tao, alang pag-asa. Oh well, KARMA will come to them. I rarely want "revenge" on anyone coz I don't want to stoop to their level. But if they get that long-overdue-karma ... I'd be more than happy to watch them suffer. hehe. At least, I wasn't the one who inflicted the suffering. I know masama na I won't be concerned or won't help someone in "need" ... but I'm not a saint who would be good to those I'm sure na bad sa akin.

KARMA
(I gathered some info on karma!! The "**" parts are my reaction/comments, duh.)

Karma is a sum of all that an individual has done and is currently doing. The effects of those deeds actively create present and future experiences, thus making one responsible for one's own life.
**So in effect, it is NO ONE's fault kung ano ka man now. It's your fault for reacting that way to whatever someone did to you. Hypothetical situation ... somebody spread a rumor about me that I owed them a huge amount of money. Since I'm scared of karma (the person who was saying shit about me obviously is not scared of karma), I'll just be pro-active about it and "correct" the rumor. I won't spread gossip about him to "get even", or seek him out and beat the shit out of him ... coz karma will find those who are guilty. Yokong ako ang babalikan ng karma.

In Buddhist teaching, the law of karma, says only this: `for every event that occurs, there will follow another event whose existence was caused by the first, and this second event will be pleasant or unpleasant according as its cause was skillful or unskillful.' A skillful event is one that is not accompanied by craving, resistance or delusions; an unskillful event is one that is accompanied by any one of those things.
** Funny ... the unskillful event (aka BAD ACTION) includes DELUSIONS or lies!

According to the Vedas, if we sow goodness, we will reap goodness; if we sow evil, we will reap evil. Karma refers to the totality of our actions and their concomitant reactions in this and previous lives, all of which determines our future. The conquest of karma lies in intelligent action and dispassionate reaction. Not all karmas rebound immediately. Some accumulate and return unexpectedly in this or other births.
** Speaking of totality ... karma is something that might not happen now. That's why we have to make sure that whatever we do now is something that we will not regret in the years to come. Let's say that you are the type of person who loves to "do" every girl you see. You might not get the karma this year but possible karmas would be ...
- you eventually get STD
- you mess with the wrong girl and that girl hires someone to beat you up or kill you (which is an easy way out, right?) - you find a nice girl who will believe and accept you for who you are then guys would have kids, then your son would be a real problem child (druggie and all that crap), or your daughter will be used by different guys the way you are used girls when you were younger (you may not be the one personally experiencing the pain but seeing your child suffer is one of the most difficult things in this world)

Haay naku ... I just hope those people who have been doing bad stuff would change na. It's never too early to live a better life. A person must improve him/herself so that others will treat him/her you better and see him/her as a better person as well.

Now, 3 more babies are on their way! My friends Marion & Lenne are expecting a baby girl (I think) anytime soon!! She's already 2 cm (she just visited the doctor). Sorry Lenne, brinoadcast ko here ... I'm just excited for you guys! Easter and her husband, Cliff, are expecting a baby boy!! And my cousin is also expecting a baby! Our guess is it's a girl coz his gf is glowing daw!!

So I'm happy for everyone!!

As for me, not in the near future. (So wag ka matakot Mama, matagal pa!) I do want to have children pero not now. hehe.

crazy weather

When I went out of the house for work this morning, I was not happy with what I saw. It was raining and snowing! Stupid me ... I chose not to wear a scarf today ... so yeah ... my face were slightly freezing. Unfortunately, I wore my good pair of boots ... it has a velvety texture so the snow kinda ruined it. I'll have to wear my pangharabas boots bukas just in case there's snow again. Wow ... talagang nasa New York na ko ... it's sorta sinking in more and more coz of the snow. Darn. I like looking at snow but I don't like it with rain and with cold temperature ... teka, snow pa ba un! hehe.

Kudos!

Hats off to two certain gals!! They were able to say stuff I can't say and do things I can't do!! *clap*clap*clap*clap*clap*clap*clap*clap*

Hmm ... I should make that one of my resolutions ... to have more guts to do things and not be afraid to speak up.

first tears for 2006

I saw Ate Kaye's post on her multiply of the pictures last January 1 ... the annual reunion of our family. It made me cry coz I wasn't there. Everyone was there except for me and my grandma who passed away. I've never been away from my family except for now. I hate the fact that I wasn't there with them. Don't get me wrong, I love being with Keith and his family, but no one in the whole wide world can ever replace my family. I feel so depressed. I miss my family so much. soooooooooooooooooooooo much.
