Am I too optimistic?
Looking back at my "history" ... I think I believe people too much, too fast. This was what got me in trouble in the past. I hope I'll be more cautious with the people I'll meet in the future. Also, I should not be too "hopeful" in the idea that people CAN change. I was just brought up in a good family that I have this belief that people are innately good. Throughout the years though, I've met different people that made messed up my life for some some reason at a certain time ... *SSHOLES, back stabers, slutty girls, CHRONIC LIARS, users, walang-utang-na-loob kind of people, etc. Like what I said in the previous entry, nakakairita na may ganitong mga tao who would actually take advantage of the kindness you are showing to them. For example, even when I have doubts about a person's integrity or even when I hear bad things about that person, I'll try to "stick around" and encourage them to change. Pero kakaiba ang ibang tao, alang pag-asa. Oh well, KARMA will come to them. I rarely want "revenge" on anyone coz I don't want to stoop to their level. But if they get that long-overdue-karma ... I'd be more than happy to watch them suffer. hehe. At least, I wasn't the one who inflicted the suffering. I know masama na I won't be concerned or won't help someone in "need" ... but I'm not a saint who would be good to those I'm sure na bad sa akin.
KARMA
(I gathered some info on karma!! The "**" parts are my reaction/comments, duh.)
Karma is a sum of all that an individual has done and is currently doing. The effects of those deeds actively create present and future experiences, thus making one responsible for one's own life.
**So in effect, it is NO ONE's fault kung ano ka man now. It's your fault for reacting that way to whatever someone did to you. Hypothetical situation ... somebody spread a rumor about me that I owed them a huge amount of money. Since I'm scared of karma (the person who was saying shit about me obviously is not scared of karma), I'll just be pro-active about it and "correct" the rumor. I won't spread gossip about him to "get even", or seek him out and beat the shit out of him ... coz karma will find those who are guilty. Yokong ako ang babalikan ng karma.
In Buddhist teaching, the law of karma, says only this: `for every event that occurs, there will follow another event whose existence was caused by the first, and this second event will be pleasant or unpleasant according as its cause was skillful or unskillful.' A skillful event is one that is not accompanied by craving, resistance or delusions; an unskillful event is one that is accompanied by any one of those things.
** Funny ... the unskillful event (aka BAD ACTION) includes DELUSIONS or lies!
According to the Vedas, if we sow goodness, we will reap goodness; if we sow evil, we will reap evil. Karma refers to the totality of our actions and their concomitant reactions in this and previous lives, all of which determines our future. The conquest of karma lies in intelligent action and dispassionate reaction. Not all karmas rebound immediately. Some accumulate and return unexpectedly in this or other births.
** Speaking of totality ... karma is something that might not happen now. That's why we have to make sure that whatever we do now is something that we will not regret in the years to come. Let's say that you are the type of person who loves to "do" every girl you see. You might not get the karma this year but possible karmas would be ...
- you eventually get STD
- you mess with the wrong girl and that girl hires someone to beat you up or kill you (which is an easy way out, right?) - you find a nice girl who will believe and accept you for who you are then guys would have kids, then your son would be a real problem child (druggie and all that crap), or your daughter will be used by different guys the way you are used girls when you were younger (you may not be the one personally experiencing the pain but seeing your child suffer is one of the most difficult things in this world)
Haay naku ... I just hope those people who have been doing bad stuff would change na. It's never too early to live a better life. A person must improve him/herself so that others will treat him/her you better and see him/her as a better person as well.
