It's hard when you're trying to do your job, and you also want to protect the people you care for. If you let lots of things slide, you will get in trouble. If you try to fix it, there's a chance it will have a bad effect on the people you care for. But on the other hand, if the people you care for also care for you, they will not put you in a position that will compromise your integrity and principles. They will not make you choose. They will not get you in trouble in the first place.

I'm less stressed. My boss is back so there are so many things that I don't have to do. I'm so relieved. Maybe that's why I've been hyper these past few days. The energy that I used to use towards some tasks have been displaced. Energy is just there so it comes out by me being talkative. Things I wanna share

Uhm, the things that I have listed are some of the highlights of the class (Microbiology) ... highlight coz it made me smile. I like smiling coz it reduces the stress. haha. Anyway, the stuff I have listed are not the exact words but the thoughts are there. My professor is sort of mejo comedian so when he gives examples or explains something, he really paints a good picture.

Before I go on, I want to mention a few points:
- Bacteria (plural); Bacterium (singular)
- Bacteria are super sobrang small
- Bacteria exist everywhere
- You have bacteria inside you ... yes, you do. But they are living "in harmony" ... there's balance between the bacterial population and your system that's why it doesn't harm you. That only time it will be harmful is if the numbers are out of proportion.
- The areas that are highly populated are mouth, intestines, and vaginal canal
- Half the dry weight of feces ... BACTERIA!

Okay ... now, these are the things I want to share:
- When you pee, you are actually cleaning out your urethra and vaginal canal (shempre pang girls lang tong second part). You might think na how can peeing clean? Well, first ... urine is acidic. Second, since the bacteria is small ... the flow of your pee is like Niagara falls to bacteria! (wahaha ... natawa ko dito nung sinabi toh ng prof ko)
- You eat clams? I do too. BUT ... this next part kinda made me iffy on clams. Eating a clam is like eating a goldfish. Why? Coz you're eating clams as a whole. And by "whole thing" ... whole thing talaga. That includes the mouth, foot, gills, anus, intestine/gut, heart, siphons, etc. So, uhuh, it is similar to eating a goldfish. PLUS, clams are bottom feeders. They stay in the bottom and filter out whatever is there. Mostly, they digest phytoplankton (plant-like wandering organism) BUT if the clams are in not-so-clean waters, well ... they're filtering that water too. So think about this when you eat clams next time ... where were those clams harvested from? Hopefully not in a near a body of water where sewerage water gets dumped in. (Ever wonder why they do recall on seafood? lol, j/k. But seriously, they recall food that has high levels of bacteria ... SOMETIMES caused by the environment where it grew from.)
- Do you ever leave food on the table, then do something, then come back to finish it? I do that a lot at work. I take a spoonful of food, while chewing, I'm working, then my food is just "out in the open". Yeah ... bad thing to do. Like what I said, bacteria is everywhere ... so by letting food sit, it's basically an open invitation to the wandering bacteria in the air ... then it goes straight in me when I eat the food.
- Salad bar? Who doesn't love those? I love those. You have the greens in a bowl that is surrounded by ice ... the lamp lighting it and making it all attractive ... the tongs and scoop for getting food ... sounds yummy. Well ... that ... according to my prof is ... "the worst place to eat at/from". Why? Well ... the veggies have been out there for an hour or so ... with people going there to get food or walking by it ... some disgusting individuals use their hands, taste the food, put it back ... who knows where they were before the restaurant; the light is shining brightly on the the food ... melting the ice that "keeps the greens fresh" ... but the light could also serve as an incubator for the bacteria. An example is Staphlococcus aureus ... although the bacteria could die sa stomach coz of the hydrochloric acid, the toxins that the bacteria produced would still survived and cause problems.
- Botox ... the stuff that is injected for those who do botox is basically diluted toxins. Yeah, you're injecting toxins in your face. The thing that it does is basically numb the nerves and prevent the muscles from contracting ... which then results in no wrinkles ... AND no smiling din. tsk tsk.
- This last part ... made some crack up. It was such an innocent remark that not everybody caught it (either that, or madumi lang isip ko. haha) Professor said that the vaginal canal is pretty acidic. Then the next thing he said was the bacteria that causes that acidity there would not be good to reside in the mouth coz it might cause the teeth the break, etc. ... and that, that's why the mouth has different bacteria. (If you didn't get that ... ewan ko sa yo, hahahaha!)

Anyway, there's probably lots of typos here. Ala na ko oras magproof read, I'm sleepy. So anyway, til next time. Bye!

Bat ba lagi ko pinapahirapan sarili ko? Two roads ... one easy, one hard ... I'd always choose the more difficult one. Baket!?!?!?!?!?!??!?!! What the hell is wrong with me? Sa halip na nakakapagpahinga ako ... sa halip na wala ako iniisip ... sa halip na walang kapraningan ... sa halip na simpleng kasiyahan ... sa halip na madali ... I subconsciously choose the insane-full-of-turns-twists-traps-venomous snake-giant ferocious trex infested-corn field maze-up n down rollercoaster like road. I remember somebody say ... after trying A, then move on ... try B coz A just won't do it anymore (no, this is not about drugs! hahahaha!) then when done with B, move on to C. Haaaay buhay. Well, actually, there's nothing bad with challenges and looking for the rush coz that makes life exciting and adds spice, but it of course can become bad.

Anyway, I'll try to study (emphasis on the word "TRY") so I won't cram next month.

I can hear, smell, and see Christmas coming ...

Christmas is my favorite holiday ever since I was a kid. It's one of the occasions that brings family together. Chikahan to the max, pagkain to the max, inuman to the max. I remember this one time which was probably 15-17 years ago (shiet, tanda ko na), Ate Kaye and I were the "eldest" and we were the ones assigned to give out the gifts. All were the gifts for the whole family (it was Xmas so it was all of the Balatbat lang muna, lahat ng anak ng grandparents - mom's side) was in one area. Then Ate Kaye and I would take the gifts and scream out the name on the gift tag. At that time, I'd feel irritated if I don't hear my name a lot coz that means, I didn't get lots of gifts. Pero, looking back, I remember seeing the happy faces of my younger cousins when they receive the gifts and the reactions of the parents when they see us lil ones smiling and beaming with happiness ... it makes me feel all warm and gooey inside. LOL. Pero di nga, it's heartwarming. That's Christmas for me ... spending time with family and making each other happy.

Unfortunately, this year, I'm not going home. This will be my second Christmas away from family. It sucks ... not because I won't get gifts from family (coz at this age na may trabaho na and all, di na madami ang regalo from the titas/titos/lolos/lolas/mom/dad/bros) but because my family is so far away. Pero this second Christmas away from the whole family is better than the first one coz at least my brother is here with me. Pero mas wawa brother ko coz this is his first, tas his GF is in pinas. I, of course, will do my best to cheer him up (Ate to the rescue! hehe) Although I have relatives sa CA and Canada, I don't anymore vacation days. so .... thank God for friends! LOL.

A kiss is one of the most intimate and sensuous things you can experience with another person. Unfortunately, while there’s no “right” way to kiss, many people experience anxiety about kissing or don’t know how to ask for a kiss. Fear not! Whether you’re getting ready for your first kiss, or you’re an experienced kisser and just want to improve your game for your first kiss with a new partner, you’ve come to the right place.

Steps

1. Be kissable. Use lipbalm, especially if your lips tend to get dry and chapped. Soft, silky smooth lips are simply more inviting. Most importantly, nobody wants to kiss someone with a stinky mouth, so carry some breath mints or gum with you, especially if you’re going out on a date. Breath mints are preferable, because you can use them in a pinch and not have to worry about getting rid of them. Also be sure to stay well hydrated; a dry mouth usually will smell worse. Of course, make sure you don’t have anything stuck in your teeth, either.
2. Test the waters. Pay attention to signals that the other person is into you and is ready for a kiss. Does he or she seem comfortable touching you. Do they brush up against you or frequently enter your personal space with playful, innocent touches. Has the subject of kissing or love come up in conversation? If you haven’t noticed any of these signals, but the person does seem “into you,” try discreetly and innocently breaking the touch barrier (guys will generally be very receptive to this, many girls will not) or bringing up kissing when you’re talking. The key is to be subtle and to watch the other person’s reaction.
3. Wait for the right moment. There’s usually no hurry for a kiss, especially a first kiss with someone, so be patient and wait until the mood is right. Some good times are at a romantic movie after or during an onscreen kiss, walking in the moonlight, or during a particularly intimate conversation. Wait until the two of you are alone so that the other person will feel more comfortable and so that nobody will see if your attempt to kiss is rejected.
4. Get permission for the kiss. You usually don’t have to ask if you can kiss someone, but you do need to make sure your partner is willing to kiss you. The easiest way, of course, is to ask, but it just makes things awkward so don't . Ask “May I kiss you?” or say “I’d like to kiss you,” and lean in right away. Many girls (and guys) don't want to be asked: they prefer that you be confident enough to take a risk and just go for it. One way to do so is to stop whatever you’re doing and silently look into the person’s eyes for a moment or two. If your partner's eyes drift down to your lips that’s a pretty good sign that he or she is ready for a kiss—chances are the reaction may be subtler, however. 5. Approach for the kiss. Approach slowly and smoothly. Depending on your starting position you may need only to turn your head, or you may need to lean in a bit. You may want to use your hands to gently urge your partner’s body or head into position—you just want to guide his or her movement a little, you don’t want to forcibly move any part of his or her body or hold your partner in an uncomfortable position—but in general you just want to position yourself correctly and let your partner meet you. As you near your partner’s lips, maintain eye contact. 6. Kiss gently. There are many kinds of kisses, from quick pecks to sweet, passionate kisses. There’s a time and place for all of these, but your first kiss with someone should be gentle and romantic. Don’t press your mouth onto your partner’s--just let your lips meet--and don’t try to push your tongue into his or her mouth. A soft, closed-mouth-to-closed-mouth kiss is perfect. Break the kiss for a moment, keeping your head close to your partner’s, and if your partner moves to kiss you back or seems to like it and doesn’t pull away, go in for another, longer, but still gentle, kiss.
7. Make the kiss the reason for the kiss. A lot of people (mostly men) seem to treat kisses as nothing more than a prelude to something else, and will try to quickly move into French kissing or start putting their hands in inappropriate places. Good kissers concentrate on the kiss, and they kiss, at least seemingly, expecting nothing more. Enjoy the experience, and don’t move too fast.
8. Let your partner participate in the kiss. Good kissing requires give-and-take, so read your partner’s body language and pay attention to clues (sighs or moans) that tell you you’re doing something he or she likes. Let your partner kiss you back, and move with him or her as long as you’re comfortable with what he or she is doing.
9. Breathe. If you’re kissing for an extended period, it’s easy to forget to breathe. Gasping, however, or turning blue is not romantic. Take small breaths through your nose as you kiss. You do not forget how to breathe!
10. Use your hands. While you should keep your hands polite, especially on a first kiss, you don’t necessarily want them just dangling at your sides. Embrace your partner, cup his or her face very gently in your hands, or run your hands through his or her hair. Another turn on for the first kiss is to gently caress their shoulder while you kiss. It shows you are comfortable with him/her. Don't forget your manners!

Tips

• Be polite and patient. Don't expect a kiss on the first date. If you act polite, your partner might go out with you again and then you might get a kiss once he or she is more comfortable with you. • If you have glasses, be careful not to poke their eyes out by accident or anything. Take contacts into consideration if you have them, if not, just, be, careful.

I got my microbiology lab report back ... got a 93 there.

I got the anatomy & physiology lab test back today ... got a 102 in the written and a 94 in the practical part.

Today, we had the third anatomy & physiology lecture exam. Results will be given next Saturday.
