life and chess

chess is a great game. it requires a lot of thinking ... ok, so maybe it's not that great ... but it can be compared to life.
  • every piece on the board represents a characteristic/piece of your personality/life. moving that piece would either make that characteristic an asset or a liability. everyone has the same set of pieces, but not everyone is using it the same way. some use it wisely, some use it wrongly, & some don't use it at all.
  • all decisions (move) you make in life (chessboard) always has a rippling effect. you don't see it at the time you made the decision, but later on in the game, you'd realize things and say "damn, i shouldn't have made that move. that was a wrong stupid move".
  • when you do something, you cannot undo it (touchmove!) you just have to deal with it.
  • if you're an amateur in chess, you don't see the "bigger picture" so you tend to make your move based on short-term winning. you don't place your pieces in such a way that you'll win the game.

life is hard. we always make wrong decisions, but just as the saying goes "what doesn't kill you can only make you stronger" (or something to that effect).

i know i've made wrong decisions before ... a lot of them, both big & small ones. but, all i can do is say sorry to the people i hurted. i wish i can take the pain away or at least lessen or ease the pain. unfortunately, i can't undo the damages. but maybe the future will turn out differently if the moves made in the present ...will be based on looking at the bigger picture. try to see things differently. hopefully the moves i'll make in the future would enable me to get back that piece i lost to obstacles/circumstances/problems/trials in life (the opponent).

LIFE OH LIFE!!!
