the dog

i care for my master a whole lot
though i don't get everything that i want
i know he gives me all he's got
in his heart, for me, he has a soft spot

sometimes though, i think i'm scaring him
because of that, my future with him might become dim
getting insecure of my ugly fur as it seems
he might exchange me in the pound for a dog more keen

i'll be really good, i promise master!
i don't want to be like other dogs, homeless and flustered
master oh master, don't leave me ever
by your side i want to stay forever
