Goldfish Memory

Tom: Goldfish has a 3-second memory. So if it only takes 3 seconds to go around the fish bowl, everytime it swims around, the tank is new. Each time we fall in love, it's like we're doing it for the first time. Some kind of chemical reaction kicks in and wipes out all the memory of how painful the last heartbreak was, and we think, "Wow, this is great. This is new. This is different."
---
Tom: I provide them with a safe place to blossom and when they want to, they can move on.
Tom' friend: That's very noble.
Tom: I'd like to think so.
---
Isolde: Being half in love, is like being half pregnant. It's either your in love or you aren't.
---
Isolde: But of course there's a difference between love and attraction, even though attraction sometimes feels like love.
---
Red: If you want true love and commitment, go get a puppy.
---
Tom: You are a divine creature. I love everything about you, the way you talk, the way you talk, the way that lock of hair falls down over your eye. I'm crazy about you Isolde. I love your name. I love you.
Isolde: I thought we were just gonna have some fun
Tom: But we are having fun aren't we
Isolde: Uhm, yeah. Let's just keep it light okay? I mean I just got out of a heavy relationship, I don't want to go get into one.
---
Angie: I think I love you (pause) I'm sorry, I shouldn't have said that.
Clara: I don't like using the word love. "I love you" really means " Do you love me?" and I, O, U ... all that crap.
Angie: You know I don't expect you to love me back, it would be nice, but no.
Clara: I really like you Angie
Angie: I really like you too.
---
Conzo: I'd love for us to spend some real time together
Clara: I'm seeing someone else you know
Conzo: Oh yeah?
Clara: Yeah, a woman
Conzo: Cool
Clara: You don't have a problem with that?
Conzo: Why should I have a problem if you're bisexual?
Clara: Who said anything about bisexual? Maybe I've turned lesbian
Conzo: Have ya?
Clara: Would you have a problem with that?
Conzo: No way babe, I believe in freedom in every possible way. You're beautiful, of course everyone's gonna want you. I can appreciate that
Clara: So you'd be cool about me seeing her and you at the same time?
Conzo: Yeah. Sure babe. Why should we be limited to some antiquated borgeois concept of monogamy? If you're attracted to someone, there's a reason for it and you owe it to yourself to find out what that reason is. Everyone in our life is sent to us to teach us something that's part of our karma from our past lives. So if the gods see it fit to send you someone, who are you to question their judgement? You just have to say yes to life, yes to love, yes to pleasure. you just have to say yes, yes, yes. Let me smell it, let me taste it, let me feel it. I might die tomorrow, give it all to me now. You know what i mean?
Clara: Yes!
---
Clara: I'm just expressing my bisexuality. ... Do you want to lock me in a monogamous relationship?
Angie: No, I don't want to lock you. If you're unfulfilled with being me, then maybe you shouldn't be with me.
---
Clara: Nothing is forbidden, that's my point.
---
Red: 10% are gay, 10% are straight and the rest are bisexual ... that's my theory.
---
Angie: I'm through with women
Red: Men aren't any easier
Angie: Women are so complicated
Red: Yeah, and men are so fuckin' simple?
Angie: Imagine two women who are having PMT at the same time
Red: Imagine two men being equally selfish
Angie: Women are so sensitive. You know everyday is something different. Right when you think you've got a handle on it, something else happens and you're right back to square one. -
Red: At least it's better than being with someone who's incapable of showing their feelings and who just cares only about themselves.
Angie: Yeah, but women have so many feelings, and all they want to do is express them
Red: The only feelings men express are hunger and lust.
Angie: I'd love that.
Red: I'd love your problems
---
Student: Are you propositioning me?
Tom (he's a professor): No, of course not. I just wanted to say I really enjoyed your essay
Student: Ok
Tom: Maybe if you want to meet up for coffee sometime
Student: I want to let you know that I think you're really nice and all, but I don't date older men.
---
Angie: Oh no no, I'm through with love. I'm gonna buy myself a puppy, settle down as a happy single person, and quit wasting my time kissing a bunch of frogs.

I bolded some stuff that I think are interesting.

Anyway, I'd give this movie a 8. It was an interesting movie just because it was very different from the usual mainstream movie shown in theaters. It tackled issues that are not openly discussed (probably because the movie is from a different country). The movie is more drama and life issues than suspense so if you're looking for a heart pumping adrenaline rush kind of movie, this is not it. It's laid back but interesting. I liked the way that everything worked out in the end. Those who got hurt in the beginning because they were with either a player, someone going for the younger generation, gay, unsure about her orientation, just want to play, etc ... ended up with someone who either set them right, made them realize what they really want, understood the game they want to play, etc. So, it's kinda nice that everything worked out well in the end.

One of the things that the story pointed out was that love hurts, then we mope and cry and b!tch about it. Then we fall in love again and it feels like "this time", it's right. That this time, it won't hurt anymore. Pag in love ka, in love ka. You will risk it all. You will let your guard up. If you're the type who don't usually say "I like you" or "I love you" to your partner first (like in the beginning) ... ung super duper start of the relationship, then you're one of the people who guard your heart well. But when you let your guard down, that's when it will hurt like hell and then you'll wish you never trusted. Pero, love is like that. It will hurt, then it will feel great.

Kaya ako, sumali na ko sa group nila Jade n Gie, I think I have turned cynical. hahahaha. Well, maybe until I finish school. At this point, being cynical makes me focus sa school. Nde ako maiinlove, nde ako masasaktan ... no need to mope, more time for books. (nax, motto, haha.) Speaking of which, I bid thee goodbye, I'm gonna go back to studying!

TTYL!
